February 2, 2023 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Introduction Blender. Learn to remodel 3D objects.
Learn to remodel 3D objects using Blender a free open source program.

Calling all Georgian College students!

We are hosting a brand new Maker Night on campus, we will learn to 3D scan! Using our personal computers we will be working with 3D models and learning how to do some simple edits.

Join Virginia and Steve Benoit one of our amazing part time Professors in Computer Studies.

Models created from photogrammetry often have more detail in them than we want or need. We can simplify the meshes to reduce the number of faces in the model and still retain the required details.

Additionally, photogrammetry process often creates or adds artifacts to the model and may even include unwanted pieces of the background.

In short, we clean up photogrammetry models to remove unwanted artifacts and to reduce model complexity. Simpler, cleaner models will appear better in AR and VR.

Requires no prior programming experience
