Benefits of being in Collingwood
Bob Wiele has been living in Collingwood with his family since 1986. Reflecting on the early years of the company, Wiele notes that the Town of Collingwood has been instrumental to the success of the business. “When I was just starting to develop OneSmartWorld, I went to Barbara Weider, who was running the business enterprise centre at the time, and she immediately saw the potential.” Wiele recalls that the support from the Town enabled the business to secure financing for its information technology and research development. The Town also provided funding for the company’s first Smarter Meetings online program.
Bob Wiele has been living in Collingwood with his family since 1986. After six years of operating his business in Thornbury and living on a farm south of Ravenna, Wiele moved to Collingwood when his family grew. He relocated his business here too. “Watching the town turn into the vibrant community that it is today has been wonderful. We’ve been able to collaborate with many great local businesses, such as printing and office supply companies, different service providers and technology companies. It’s worked very well for us,” says Wiele.

Wiele and St. Germaine have co-authored various learning materials that are used in schools, workforce development and corporate settings.
